My Dream Project...

My dream is about a year old.   I have been discussing with my friends whenever the discussion is about information technology.

I am not a good blogger. But I try to convey the message as much as simple.

One day I was seriously debugging a code, I got a communicator message from a person who is using our tool from our project. He need some clarification from me about the data have been provided by the tool so that he can explain to his customers.   We were chatting on communicator for more than 30 minutes. At one point, I have asked him, “how about audio?”, the person replied, “No, I am not that good at English”.  He might be very familiar with his language.  But not enough to explain the things that he know in English.  Somehow the conversation end on that day. But, still it was running on my mind.  Got a day dream all of a sudden.

My dream #1 starts here à

Stage 1: At work: How about a communicator can able to receive text in foreign language and able to convert to my language for me? And vice versa, my language have been able to convert to foreign language on his/her communicator.  The communicator able to provide both the languages like “Source” – that the other person were communicating and the destination what the end user receives in his/her language.

If the communication have been happening between a group of people with different languages, the source windows will provide me the languages  that the persons were “text” in.

 Stage 2: At other country/state/region:

I have been stepping down from the airport/railway terminus/bus terminus, I have been having a device at my hand which receives a local language that have been spoken in that region which will convert in to my language that I know.  As well the device also provides me an equivalent foreign language response that I have to response to the person in my language. So that there won’t be any barrier between the person and me with the language.

This is somewhat similar to the scene below

“May be we might have come across the scene from film “The Predator” at the end. Arnold have been asking to the predator, “what the hell are you?” and the predator looks his arm for the translation and smiles “ha ha ha ha ha”.   “

It is a kind of device, that I was dream about at the foreign locations where the person were not familiar with the language.

 My dream #1 ends.

Online translator:

I try to understand how does “google/translate” have been working.  The translation have been happening on the data what they have been collected for each language. The engine brings the equivalent words from the data for the provided conversion and target language.

My dream went to the stone-age and literacy. “How does a language have been born initially?” How does the communication have been made between humans before any language have born?. We know that animals and birds were communicating with them for their need. Human might have followed the same at initial stage for any communication.

Still watching with movies and documentaries about the tribes, they have their own language which may not have letter though. Who know how many languages exists/documented in the world as of now?

Humans that have existed in the different places of the world might have their own “sounds” for their communication.

Might be to build such a tool, we might need to start with the language specialists to collect the base data for each word and equivalent meaning in one language.  

Then build a device, the tool will be using artificial intelligence to generate the responses. 

Not sure, all these things have been happening at any part of the world.

But I would like to work on such a project if already started.
